Nasarawa United FC of Lafia come up against the leading scorer in this year’s men’s Federation Cup when they take the pitch at the MKO Abiola Stadium against Akwa United of Uyo on Wednesday in one of the semi final matches of the competition.

Friday Obong is this year’s men’s Federation Cup leading scorer with six goals, his latest being one of the goals in Akwa United’s 2-2 draw with surprise quarter finalists Niger Tornadoes Feeders of Minna in Makurdi last week.

Nasarawa United also boast a number of ambitious strikers, including Danlami Mohammed, who struck in the defeat of FC IfeanyiUbah in Ilorin in the last eight.

In Katsina, five –time winners of the Federation Cup, Enugu Rangers will confront two –time champions Lobi Stars, in a mouth –watering semi final.

In the women’s Federation Cup, Bayelsa Queens are up against giant –killers Kogi Confluence Queens, at the Oleh Township Stadium.

The Confluence Queens eliminated Cup holders Rivers Angels in the quarter -finals and are favourites to reach the final.

Nasarawa Amazons, another strong Women Premier League side, are up against Sunshine Queens at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu in the other semi final.
