Chairman of the NFF Media and Publicity Committee, Hon. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande has heaped encomiums on Coach Emmanuel Amuneke and the triumphant Golden Eaglets following their success story at Chile 2015.
The ranking member of the House of Representatives, who is also serving a second term as member of the NFF Executive Committee, on Tuesday supported the position of NFF President Amaju Pinnick that Amuneke has earned his respect and should continue in the post.
“Coach Amuneke has proved that you don’t need to be a noisemaker to achieve. He was perhaps one of the most under –rated National Team coaches until Chile 2015.
“I fully align with the position of the NFF President that Amuneke should continue in the post. He has done a marvelous job to bring honour to this country, and did his work quietly without throwing tantrums.”
Yahaya-Kwande also praised the players and other members of the technical/backroom staff, saying they all deserve more than a pat on the back.
“They have all worked with a sense of purpose and the NFF and the entire nation is proud of them.
“I am elated by the attitude of the players on and off the field. The discipline is heartwarming, and Amuneke must also take the credit for the way he managed the team and took full charge.”
The Golden Eaglets and their officials are expected to arrive in Abuja on Wednesday afternoon aboard an Emirates Airline flight from Dubai.
