The camp of the U-23 National Team, Dream Team was full of life on Friday as some of the invited players beat the Friday deadline handed down by Head Coach Samson Siasia.
First to arrive camp was Warri Wolves FC defender Semiu Liadi, who came in early enough to meet the morning training, while at about 2pm, Kingsley Sokari breezed into the Hotel Presidential camp of the team looking fit and ready for action.
Both players were part of the team’s training session in the evening held at the Liberation Stadium pitch, this, according to Coach Siasia, as a result of information available to him that the pitch in Pointe Noire is artificial.
While commending both Liadi and Sokari for beating the deadline, Siasia said that Abia Warriors defender Ndifreke‎ Effiong should not bother to report to camp as he could not beat the Friday deadline, adding that time is of essence to him and his technical crew in the build up to the Congo game.
Meanwhile, Siasia said he expects the overseas- based duo of Umar Aminu and Shehu Abdullahi to report to camp by Monday as their letters of invitation have been sent to their respective clubs.
