The Director of Sports Development in the Kaduna State Ministry of Sports Development, Hassan Buba, has wished the Nigeria Beach Soccer National Team, Sand Eagles, success ahead of their trip to Ghana for the return leg of the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Buba gave the message on behalf of the Kaduna State Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Ben Kure, during a visit by the Sand Eagles before their departure from Kaduna on Thursday morning. He assured the players and officials of the state government’s support as they prepare for the decisive encounter. He also conveyed the commissioner’s goodwill message, explaining that the latter was unable to attend due to another important engagement outside the State.
“I extend to you the good wishes of the Honourable Commissioner, who would have loved to see you personally as you depart from Kaduna. He wishes you all the very best as you go to Accra for the return leg match, and he is confident that you will earn the ticket to qualify for the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations,” Buba said.
He urged the team to maintain discipline throughout their stay in Ghana, offered prayers for a successful outing, and further reaffirmed the state’s support for the team, expressing confidence in their ability to secure a positive result. “We are solidly behind you in spirit, even though we cannot be physically present in Ghana. We are praying for you. Insha Allah, you will return victorious,” he added.
The Sand Eagles will travel to Ghana seeking to secure qualification for the 2026 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations following a 3–3 draw in the first leg.
