President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick, has charged the Super Falcons to seize the opportunity afforded by the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada to conquer the world.

He stated this when he and members of the NFF Executive Board and some Congress members visited the team at their lodge ahead of Monday’s opening game against Sweden.

“I have never seen a unit that is more patriotic than the Super Falcons. Yes, we all love money but that has never been your focus; your focus is to represent Nigeria. Your focus has always been to adorn the green and white of the country. You love Nigeria and you give your all for the country, not focusing on money.

“I charge you to go all out to make history in this tournament. There is a new government in Nigeria now so we must make them smile; we must make them happy and make them love the you and the other National Teams.

“I have watched a couple of teams play since the World Cup began and sincerely speaking, I have not seen any team better than the Super Falcons. That is why I believe that this is the time for this team to prove to the world that they can do it. I know as a matter of fact that you girls can do it. The whole of Africa depends on us and they are all excited and expectant. This is the time for the Super Falcons to not just represent Nigeria, but the whole of Africa. The whole nation is solidly behind you,” he concluded.

The NFF President was accompanied by Mrs Margaret Icheen (Chairman of Benue State FA), Otunba Sunday Dele-Ajayi (NFF Exco member), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau (NFF Exco member), Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi (Ogun State FA chairman) and Mrs Dilichukwu Onyedinma (NFF Exco member).
