The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has tasked Super Falcons to go all out to make history at this year’s edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
This message was passed onto the girls by the leader of delegation to the tournament and NFF Executive Committee member, Chief (Mrs) Dilichukwu Onyedinma when she addressed the girls on arrival at the team’s lodge in Winnipeg.
“I urge you to go all out and make history. We are all praying for you; Nigerians are praying for you and I know that you are praying for yourselves too. You must give a very good account of yourselves. You must not let yourselves and the country down because I know that God will do it for you; He is always behind you and He hears your prayers because of your commitment and behavior.
“In Nigeria now, you are looked at as the best national team so I want you to keep it up and by God’s grace we are going to make history. I want you to up your game and forget about all past achievements because this is the big one and history beckons on all of you,” she concluded.
Falcons play their first game against Sweden on Monday evening.
