An official of the local organising committee of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015, Keith Kelly, has disclosed that tickets for the first Group D match between Nigeria and Sweden at the Investors Group Field, Winnipeg venue have all been bought as enthusiastic fans anticipate a great encounter. “All tickets for the opening game have been sold out and we look forward to a superlative performance from both teams. It going to be a great game,” Keith said.
Meanwhile the Super Falcons have had a feel of the Winnipeg Stadium pitch where the match will be played. The team had its mandatory press conference before they had their official training which lasted for one hour at the 30,000 capacity stadium to correspond with the kick-off time of the match on Monday, June 8.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick alongside NFF Executive Committee member and Chairman of Nigeria Women Football League, Dilichukwu Onyedinma, were on hand to watch the girls train at the Winnipeg Stadium. The match kicks off at 3pm local time which is 9pm Nigerian time.
