The Nigeria Football Federation has sacked the Normalization Committee appointed to steer the wheel of football in Anambra State following intractable problems that bedeviled the Football Association’s planned elections.
In a letter addressed to the chairman of the Normalization Committee and signed on behalf of the General Secretary by Tunde Aderibigbe, secretary of the State FA Elections Committee, the NFF made it clear that a request for extension sought by the Committee was untenable.
“I have been directed to inform you that your request for tenure extension which is the second in one month has been rejected by the Federation while the Normalization Committee under your leadership has been dissolved with immediate effect, for not being able to complete the mandate given to your Committee as at when due,” the letter read.
The NFF had in April set up a five-man Normalization Committee in place of the Board of Anambra State Football Association, which tenure ended on 28th February, 2015.
The Committee, with Barr. Clifford Iloegbune Okoye as chairman, and with Barr. Okey Abazu, Barr. Chike Ononye, Mr. Uzo Epudu and Mr. Patrick C. Okafor as members, was inaugurated on 10th April, 2015 by the NFF States Elections Monitoring Committee.
