The Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation has directed that machinery must be put in place for the conduct of elections into the Board of Anambra State Football Association within the next two weeks.
This means the elections, which ran into stormy waters earlier in the year and necessitated the composition of a Normalization Committee by the NFF, must happen on or before Wednesday, August 5.
Two factions were laying claim to the right to conduct the elections, and this even led to the suspension of the State’s Federation Cup final.
By a letter dated 8th April, 2015, the NFF informed the Secretary of Anambra FA that a five –man Normalization had been formed to take charge of the State’s Football Association activities, in line with Article 85 of the NFF Statutes.
The Normalization Committee headed by Barr. Clifford Iloegbune, and having Barr. Okey Abazu, Barr. Chike Ononye, Mr. Uzo Epudu and Mr. Patrick C. Okafor as members, had been in charge of the Anambra State FA since then.
