Super Falcons have started their final training programme in Toronto ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup kicking off in 15 days.
The team, which arrived the city on Wednesday, trained for two hours in the morning and evening at the training pitch which is about 25 minutes drive from their Novotel Hotel lodge.
Speaking after the training, Coach of the team, Edwin Okon, stated that he was not leaving anything to chance and that he wants his girls to hit the ground running when the tournament begins.
“I’m impressed with the way we have started. I want us to hit the ground running and keep the team focused. We are here for serious business and we are not going to leave anything to chance. The weather here is okay and we are going to make the best of it in our subsequent trainings. It’s going to be a great start for us,” he said.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup kicks off on the 6th of June and Super Falcons will play their first game against Sweden in Winnipeg on the 8th of June.
