World football governing body, FIFA has officially welcomed Nigeria’ team delegation to the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada.
The reception was held at the team’s Hilton Winnipeg Airport Suites lodge where players and officials did their accreditation for the World Cup and were put through the code of conduct on and off the pitch during the competition.
Leader of the delegation and NFF Executive Committee member Dilichukwu Onyedinma thanked FIFA and the LOC for the warm welcome.
Similarly, Team Captain, Evelyn Nwabuoku praised FIFA for the welcome, adding that the girls would not lose focus on the reason they are in Canada.
“I want to on behalf of my team thank you for this warm welcome and putting us through the rules. I promise you that we will not lose focus on the reason we are here,” Nwabuoku siad.
The team had earlier trained for 2 hours in the morning, which was its first training session in Winnipeg, venue of Monday’s opening match against Sweden.
