The Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation held a meeting at the Best Western Plus Hotel, Asaba on Saturday, 11th July 2026 to deliberate on important issues in Nigeria Football and resolved as follows:

The Committee also hailed Dr Motsepe and the CAF leadership for the opportunity given to Nigeria to host two of the Confederation’s most important events.

2) The Executive Committee expressed deep appreciation to the Federal Government, through the National Sports Commission, for the special intervention fund that is being committed to the Nigeria Premier Football League to shore up the league’s profile, boost its commercial value and engineer a robust football economy for Nigeria. While noting the promise by the Government to extend similar intervention to the Nigeria Women Football League, the Committee passionately appealed to the Government, through the NSC, to extend support to the Nigeria National League (NNL) and the Nigeria Nation-Wide League One (NLO) as well.

3) In the same vein, the Executive Committee hailed the pronouncement by the National Sports Commission that it is ready to provide full support to the NFF for the strict enforcement of the Club Licensing regulations, and to shun any attempt by any Club to circumvent any of the provisions in the regulations.

(Dr) Sheriff Oborevwori and his administration for accepting to host this year’s President Federation Cup grand finale, and for the warmth and hospitality of the good and great people of ‘The Big Heart’ towards all football stakeholders and visitors to the State during the big occasion on Saturday, 11th July 2026.

6) Similarly, the Executive Committee challenged the U20 girls, Falconets, to set for themselves a target of becoming the first Nigeria team to win the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup when they participate in the final tournament in Poland in September. 8) While expressing delight at the restoration of Nigeria back to the CAF A-License Convention by the Confederation of African Football, the Board challenged Nigerian coaches to take advantage of the several windows of opportunities presented by the many programmes organized by the NFF to continue to update, upgrade and renew their knowledge of the beautiful game, and let the impact of their improvement be felt across the various domestic leagues and competitions.
